Spring sprucing

There are flowers on the front porch and the welcome mat was swapped out to something more seasonally appropriate. Hell, there are even wreaths on the door. It's spring, baby!

And how about that new door hardware (installation progress/management shots here)? Not too shabby, right? And definitely a far cry from its spray paint-covered brass predecessor. Last but not least, of course, is the equally snazzy doorbell cover Chip installed yesterday. Ring-a-ling-a-ding-dong, indeed.

  1. Purrttyyy! Since you seem to be a bit more in-the-know when it comes to flowers and plants, I will take this as my cue that it is safe to purchase some potted plants for our front door as well. I never know when and end up deciding mid-August that it's about time to add some color to the front porch. If they die, I will blame you.

  2. I am probably a little early on the spring flowers, but they were an impulse purchase the night that Mary Clare did her business at Home Depot and we had to clear out of the store out of respect to the other shoppers' sense of smell.

They are, however, geraniums, so they should be pretty hearty. I haven't planted anything else besides some herbs yet, though. I'm waiting until after Mother's Day to do everything else.
